Role Description

We are seeking a Second Engineer or Third Engineer OR an enthusiastic sailing engineer with a minimum sailing experience as 4
th
engineer
to join our
Marine Engineering Content Development Team
.

The ideal candidate will bring
hands-on shipboard experience
and a
strong grasp of marine engineering principles
to create, review, and enhance
high-quality learning materials
— including
question banks, exam guides, and explanatory notes
for marine competency exams (MEO Class I, II, and IV).

You will contribute to exam preparation content designed for
India, the UK (MCA), Singapore, Sri Lanka, and other English-speaking maritime administrations
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the
    Senior Content Manager
    to develop and review exam-style questions, solutions, and explanations for marine engineering competency exams.
  • Create
    structured study materials and technical guides
    aligned with international maritime standards.
  • Ensure all content is
    technically accurate, clear, and examination-relevant
    .
  • Work closely with
    marine professionals, editors, and instructional designers
    to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Integrate
    real-world shipboard experience
    into academic and reference content to improve practical understanding.
  • Stay up to date with
    syllabus changes and regulatory frameworks
    across multiple maritime authorities.

Qualifications

  • Valid
    Certificate of Competency (CoC)
    as
    Second Engineer (Class II)
    or
    Class IV Engineer
    .
  • Minimum
    3 years
    (preferably
    5+ years
    ) of cumulative sea-going or shore-based engineering experience.
  • Excellent command of written English with the ability to
    explain complex engineering concepts clearly
    .
  • Passion for
    education, mentoring, and content development
    .
  • Prior experience in
    training, technical writing, or marine education
    will be an advantage.
