Job Title: Hardware / Admin / Networking Engineer

Location: Mumbai, India

Reports To: Head of Web Services

Working Days / Timings: Monday to Friday (Flexible timings).

Job Purpose

To ensure uninterrupted and secure IT infrastructure operations by maintaining computer hardware, network architecture, server uptime, and connectivity.

This role will also be responsible for overseeing network administration, troubleshooting, and system upgrades to support the smooth functioning of all departments.

Key Responsibilities / Accountability

Network Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and maintain LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections for secure and efficient network operations.

Hardware & System Support

  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware.
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot system components as required.

Server & Storage Administration

  • Monitor and maintain servers; ensure backups, patch updates, and availability of file and print servers, including local/cloud hybrid storage.

IT Asset Management

  • Track, manage, and maintain inventory of all IT assets across locations.
  • Ensure timely procurement, allocation, and decommissioning.

Network Security & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor security protocols, firewall rules, antivirus policies, and access control systems.
  • Support internal audits and compliance checks.

User Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for employees across locations.
  • Resolve network and system issues efficiently, minimizing downtime.

Vendor & AMC Coordination

  • Manage third-party vendors for hardware procurement, software licensing, and AMC contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs.

System Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT configurations, procedures, incident logs, and infrastructure audits.

Collaboration & Office Setup Support

  • Support cross-location office setups, relocations, and remote connectivity.
  • Assist with AV systems, conferencing tools, and network expansions.

Event Setup Support

  • Support hardware setup for client meetings, events, offsites, and conferencesincluding AV, network access, and backup solutions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent field
  • Certifications preferred: CCNA / MCSA / CompTIA Network+
  • 35 years of experience in hardware support and network/system administration
  • Prior experience managing multi-location networks is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux-based systems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points
  • Experience with server administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.)
  • Familiarity with antivirus and endpoint security systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to handle pressure situations and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent documentation and reporting abilities
  • Collaborative and service-oriented mindset
