Role Overview:

The Resident Engineer (RE) serves as the dedicated onsite cybersecurity liaison managing
CrowdStrike Falcon EDR
and
Next-Gen SIEM (NG-SIEM)
operations. The role focuses on
incident response, platform health monitoring,
and
SOC process optimization
, acting as the
Single Point of Contact (SPOC)
for high-severity incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as onsite/on-call SPOC for incidents via CrowdStrike & NG-SIEM platforms.
  • Triage alerts, initiate
    Major Incident Management
    for P1/P2 events, and track closure.
  • Coordinate containment & remediation (host isolation, IOC blocking, access revocation).
  • Manage incident bridges and ensure real-time updates and documentation.
  • Perform
    platform health checks
    (agent status, ingestion flow, policy compliance).
  • Support
    threat hunting, RCA,
    and proactive trend analysis.
  • Maintain detailed
    incident records, reports, and governance documentation.
  • Provide continuous feedback for
    detection tuning, automation,
    and process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with
    ISO 27001, GDPR, CERT-In
    and internal security policies.
  • Participate in
    governance meetings
    and contribute to the SOC knowledge base.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years
    in SOC, EDR, or Incident Response roles.
  • Strong in
    CrowdStrike Falcon EDR
    (IOC analysis, policy tuning, RTR) and
    NG-SIEM tools
    (CrowdStrike NG-SIEM, Google SecOps, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of
    networking, system security,
    and
    cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Familiarity with
    MITRE ATT&CK, SOAR, ITIL,
    and malware/threat analysis.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred Certifications:
    CEH, CCFA, CCFR, Security+, or equivalent.

Engagement:

  • 8×5 onsite coverage with on-call support for P1/P2 issues.
  • Active participation in weekly and monthly
    SOC governance reviews.
