The ideal candidate must be a Digital Transformation Leader first, and an SAP Specialist second, possessing a blend of technical, strategic, and interpersonal skills.
1. Strategic & Visionary Leadership
- Clear Vision: The ability to articulate a compelling, long-term digital vision for the entire company, including both the core shoe business and the new smart shoe venture.
- Strategic Alignment: Must be able to align IT investments (especially the SAP platform) directly with business goals, ensuring technology drives value and not just cost.
- Business Acumen: A deep understanding of the shoe business value chainfrom design and sourcing to manufacturing, supply chain, retail, and e-commerce.
2. Technical Mastery & Innovation Driver
SAP Expertise (The Foundation): Proven, deep experience implementing and optimizing SAP (ideally S/4HANA or a similar modern version) to streamline core business processes like:
Supply Chain & Manufacturing: Optimizing the existing production line.
- Inventory & Logistics: Enhancing efficiency for traditional and digital products.
Financials: Providing accurate, real-time data for better decision-making.
Innovation Mindset (The Future): A genuine passion for emerging technologies relevant to smart shoes and digital development:
IoT/Wearables: Understanding sensor data, connectivity (Bluetooth/BLE), cloud platforms, and data security for smart products.
- Mobile/App Development: Experience leading the creation of consumer-facing mobile apps (for the smart shoe) and internal business tools.
- Data/Analytics: The ability to leverage SAP and smart shoe data for customer insights and predictive maintenance/forecasting.
3. Interpersonal & Change Management Skills
- Change Agent with Empathy: This is perhaps the most critical quality in an "old school family business." They must be a champion for change but approach it with respect and empathy for existing employees and traditions.
- Exceptional Communicator & Translator: Must be fluent in both "business-speak" (explaining ROI to the family owners) and "tech-speak" (guiding developers). They need to bridge the gap between the older generation's methods and the new digital world.
- Silo Buster: The ability to foster collaboration across traditional departments (e.g., manufacturing, sales) and the new digital product teams.
