JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role is responsible for supporting ITAM programs by maintaining accurate lifecycle records, inventories, and entitlement data for hardware and software assets. It involves monitoring software usage and hardware refresh cycles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute reporting, performing compliance checks, and maintaining data hygiene. The role also ensures alignment between CMDB, ITAM, and SAM records by managing ITAM and SAM-related service requests, and supports physical inventory, audits, corrective actions, issue resolution, and remediation activities..

  • Support ITAM program initiatives and projects by assisting in data collection, documentation, reporting, and ensuring adherence to ITAM (HAM and SAM) policies, standards, and processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date lifecycle records, inventories, and entitlement data for hardware and software assets in ITAM systems.
  • Ensure alignment between CMDB, ITAM, and SAM records through regular reconciliations, data hygiene checks, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor software usage, hardware refresh cycles, and attribute accuracy to support compliance and optimize asset utilization.
  • Reconcile received assets with Purchase Orders (PO) and Bill of Materials (BOM), update asset metadata, and ensure proper asset tagging and record maintenance.
  • Manage ITAM and SAM-related service requests, including asset allocation, updates, transfers, and status changes.
  • Support lifecycle management activities including refresh, harvesting, recovery, and disposal of hardware and software assets in line with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in license compliance management by tracking usage, recovering licenses during refresh or offboarding, and preparing compliance reports.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, verifying records, and assisting with remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of ITAM processes with program objectives and stakeholder requirements.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ITAM processes, cost optimization, and data accuracy

KEY COMPETENCIES & EXPERTISE

  • Bachelors degree in business, technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-8 years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) operations, with exposure to both Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Basic understanding of asset lifecycle processes including allocation, updates, refresh, recovery, and disposal.
  • Working knowledge of ITAM tools (preferably ServiceNow HAM Pro/SAM Pro) for updating asset metadata and handling service requests.
  • Familiarity with maintaining hardware and software inventory data, entitlements, and usage tracking.
  • Understanding of asset metadata (location, user, model) maintenance and its impact on data integrity.
  • Experience in supporting physical inventory, audits, and asset verification exercises.
