Engineering Manager / Development Lead - Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager / Development Lead to join our fast-paced startup environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. You will oversee the development of mobile, web, and backend applications, ensuring high-quality code and efficient delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the progress of mobile, web, and backend applications.
  • Catching up on understanding of overall ecosystem.
  • Participation in scrum meetings (mobile, web) on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for code-reviews to improve the codebase.
  • Taking care and proposing various improvements and design approaches with the dev team.
  • Weekly discussions with Scrum Master and Product Owner to understand the high-priority tasks and requirements.
  • Weekly meeting with developers to understand what they are up to and their concerns.
  • Having meetings with Leadership for status updates on a daily basis.
  • Running the application locally to verify the changes made by the dev team.
  • Ensure teams adhere to defined Coding standards

Qualifications and Skillset

  • 12+ years of experience in software development and engineering management.
  • Proven experience in leading development teams in a startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of mobile, web, and backend development.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and scrum practices.
  • Excellent code review and debugging skills.
  • Ability to propose and implement design improvements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to run and verify applications locally.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
