1. In-Process and Final Inspection
- Perform regular in-process inspections on the shop floor to verify product dimensions, appearance, and assembly.
- Conduct final inspections of finished parts before dispatch to customers.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
2. Incoming Material Inspection
- Inspect raw materials, sheet metal, and bought-out parts as per specifications and incoming inspection standards.
- Maintain records of material test certificates (MTC) and supplier quality.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Fill in inspection reports, check sheets, and rejection reports.
- Maintain records for in-process, final inspection, and non-conformity reports.
- Assist in documentation related to PPAP, APQP, and customer audits.
4. Defect Analysis
- Identify and record non-conformities during inspection.
- Coordinate with production and design teams for corrective/preventive actions.
- Assist in root cause analysis using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, etc.
5. Quality Standards Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality systems.
- Adhere to customer-specific quality requirements and inspection plans.
- Support internal and external audits.
6. Tool and Equipment Calibration
- Ensure inspection tools and gauges are calibrated and properly maintained.
- Report damaged or non-functional tools to the concerned authority.
