Reports to: Unit Head & Corporate CI Head

Team Size: 1 Direct Report

Summary

The CI Lead is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement within the unit through process optimization, lead-time reduction, cost efficiency, and building a performance-driven work environment. The role ensures alignment with organizational goals by implementing lean practices, reducing non-value activities, and fostering employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Map current processes, analyze improvement scope, and drive execution using lean and CI tools.
  • Lead and monitor CI projects (Kaizen events, lean projects, etc.) with financial and operational impact.
  • Train, coach, and guide employees to adopt CI practices and sustain improvement culture.
  • Share best practices across functions and replicate successful initiatives.
  • Coordinate factory budgets related to Capex, repairs & maintenance, consumables, and margin improvement.
  • Eliminate non-value-added activities to enhance gross margins.
  • Track and publish factory-level performance metrics (Balanced Scorecard).
  • Drive people engagement and capability building to strengthen CI culture.
  • Conduct CI training programs (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma) in collaboration with HR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence / Plant Engineering / Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, and Operational Excellence principles.
  • Six Sigma / Lean / TPM certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management and process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and team management skills.
