The Team:
Join S&P Global's AI engineering team as a Mid-Level AI Developer, where you'll design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI applications for global financial markets. You'll collaborate with experienced technologists to build intelligent platforms using cutting-edge Generative AI and NLP technologies, while accelerating your career in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
The Impact:
This role is essential for the Market Intelligence Group of S&P as it ensures the development of new software solutions and continuous improvement and stability of our existing applications. Role will enable our clients with a seamless user experience and access to up-to-date data, ultimately bolstering their confidence in our services and reinforcing our competitive position in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Production AI Development: Design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI applications using LLMs, RAG architectures, and modern ML frameworks for internal and external clients.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, QA engineers, and data platform teams to deliver scalable, high-quality AI solutions that directly impact business outcomes.
- Full-Stack AI Engineering: Build end-to-end AI systems using Python, modern ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud services (AWS/Azure), and vector databases.
- Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar).
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging AI technologies; participate in innovation initiatives, proofs of concept, and team brainstorming sessions.
- Documentation & Transparency: Document features and technical decisions in Jira/Confluence to ensure clarity and accountability.
- Production Support: Lead feature integration, provide L2/L3 support for AI systems in production, and troubleshoot complex issues to maintain 99.9% platform reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4-7 years of software development experience.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI, NLP, or related domains preferred.
- Proficiency in Python (C# or JavaScript/Angular experience is a plus).
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and modern CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI APIs, RAG patterns, and vector database implementations
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Preferred Skills
- Experience with model deployment platforms (MLflow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker)
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, fine-tuning techniques, and LLM optimization
- Familiarity with financial markets or financial data processing
- Understanding of AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and model governance
- Knowledge of security and compliance considerations for enterprise AI systems
- Track record of innovation through hackathons, research publications, or open-source contributions.
