Job Description SummaryShould Process & Cost leader as part of the Value Engineering and Pivot2Value leadership team within Gas Power will be setting strategy and leading a high potential global Should Process & Cost team influencing approximately $1B in supplier spend. He/She will lead development and deployment of advanced should-cost/process methods and digital tools across the product lifecycle, converting market, manufacturing, and supply chain insights into negotiation and design-to-cost actions. They will embed Should Cost into commodity Op plans in partnership with sourcing and deliver transparent performance through standard work, daily management, and KPI/MOR rigor. The role oversees portfolio and resource management in a dynamic environment—aligning to capacity, standardization, & cost productivity—while driving excellence in SQDC outcomes. They will champion innovation and harmonization of tools and processes—including AI-enabled, scalable models and component databases—to simplify, standardize, and accelerate decision-making. Roles and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate comprehensive technical expertise in the domain of cost estimation tools/ methods development & their application across various functions & stages of product development lifecycle for Gas Power products & services.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of market factors, raw material, tariffs, manufacturing, supply chain dynamics, design attributes, cost of poor quality and their critical implications on capacity (delivery) and cost of purchased parts.
• Articulate and defend should-cost/process insights to cultivate strong connections with internal (PM, GP Sourcing, GEV Sourcing) & external stakeholders (Suppliers); facilitate dialogue to uncover hidden  opportunities and build consensus on win‑win solutions for suppliers and Gas Power.
• Lead a global Center of Excellence team for Should Process championing technical and operational rigor throughout all phases of execution, consistently delivering superior outcomes in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
• Inspire team to challenge conventional modelling practices & areas of application. Drive innovation, embrace simplification, continuously questioning established norms to unlock greater efficiency. Supports harmonization and standardization of tools, processes to optimize resources, cost and time.
• Guide, coach, mentor, and develop the Should Process & Cost team members with solid development plans and exposure to various business functions (engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, product management, etc.). In collaboration with Value Engineering and P2V leadership find opportunities to broaden the Systems Thinking skills of the team members.
• Shape and execute Long Term Strategy (LTS) for Should Process program, providing decisive leadership in connecting the stakeholders long term need, evolving industry trends & market dynamics.
• Spearhead key organizational initiatives and foster robust partnerships with  PM sourcing, manufacturing, engineering,  and GEV HQ stakeholders to achieve transformative results and advance business objectives.
• Strategize Digital/AI integration into Should Cost/process tools & methods to transform the modelling practices. Focus on tools scalability & sustainability to drive long term benefits. Stay closely aligned with GP Sourcing Digital & HQ Digital team to drive synergy & adoption.
• Stay attuned to evolving business priorities (e.g., Capacity, MLI Standardization hoshin, cost productivity pipeline) and align program operations accordingly; plan & optimize resource and capital allocation in line with changing stakeholder needs.
• Drive excellence in penetrating Should Process in configured systems space by deploying Standard work, toll gates, review checklists & sign off authorities in place; build components databases, modular digital tools (cables, LEEC), proactively identify & mitigate risks, rigorously monitor financial and operational performance against agreed milestones, and initiate timely corrective actions across portolio of projects. Address stakeholder adoption issues at all levels of the Config Sys leadership to cultivate deeper collaboration.
• Actively engage with GE Vernova's HQ sourcing teams, assist them in corporate-level negotiations by leveraging the tools GP Should Cost team has developed, Ex- Cables, SMP, Fabrication, ACE. Actively lead & participate in the GE Vernova Should Cost Council sharing best practices across the board to drive adoption across the BUs.
• Champion deployment of standard work, daily management, to seamlessly connect them with KPI management dashboard for a systematic/structured MOR rigor to maintain overall program KPI performance transparency with leadership.
• Establish seamless collaborations with commodity teams and drive deeper integration of Should Cost into the annual Op Plan

Required Qualifications

• BE/Master's/PhD in Mechanical/Power Plant/Structural Engineering.

• 10+ years of working experience in the area of Power Plant/Structural Engineering /manufacturing and costing. Experience in design tools would be preferred.

• Sound understanding of manufacturing/mechanical engineering fundamentals

• Effective communication, presentation, and influencing skills

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to empower and inspire the team

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across global sites
