Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join our production team for ice cream and other food categories. The role will be responsible for ensuring product quality and safety by conducting rigorous inspections, laboratory testing, and documentation as per regulatory and global food standards. You will oversee product compliance, manage ingredient development, and play a key role in improving processes from raw materials to final product delivery.

Key responsibilities:

Product Development & Innovation

  • Assist in the development and improvement of ice cream recipes and new product lines.
  • Work with various ingredients and formulations to enhance taste, texture, shelf life, and nutritional value.
  • Participate in R&D trials and testing of new flavors or seasonal offerings.

Quality Control & Assurance

  • Conduct regular testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure consistency, quality, and safety.
  • Check physical attributes (texture, color), sensory properties (taste, smell), and microbial content.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.

Compliance & Food Safety

  • Ensure all products and processes comply with FSSAI , GFS , and internal food safety standards.
  • Approve and verify product labeling and documentation to meet regulatory and brand guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain food safety practices such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and hygiene protocols.
  • Assist during audits and support certification processes.

Production Support & Supplier Oversight

  • Monitor production lines to ensure adherence to quality procedures during manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to maintain quality standards right from raw materials to final delivery.
  • Analyze KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reports and investigate any deviations or quality concerns.

Training & Team Coordination

  • Train factory and shop floor staff on hygiene, sanitation, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support cross-functional coordination between quality, operations, and procurement teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology , Dairy Technology , Food Science , or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in food production, quality control, or lab-based roles (ice cream/dairy preferred).
  • Strong understanding of FSSAI regulations, lab testing protocols , and production processes.
  • Strong communication skills in English , Hindi , and the local regional language .
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities; comfortable in fast-paced environments.
