Associate - Academics (Content Development & Capacity Building)

Your team (Academics)  The Academics team consists of practitioners from teaching, teachertraining, content andcurriculum development backgrounds. The Academics (Content development and Capacity buildingprofessionals) team is in chargeof ensuring that all curricular and capacity -building materials that Madhidevelops and collaborates on, align with our key pillars Accessibility,Contextualization, Inclusivity and Learning Outcome -focused. This team alsoowns the academic and training inputs across all programs and hence delivershigh -quality error -free content and training customised to individual projectneeds. About the role:  The Associate, Academics will co -create curricular materials, includingbut not limited to worksheets, lesson plans, instructional videos, andassessments. These curricular materials for grades 1 to 3 for literacy (Englishand Tamil) and Maths will be benchmarked globally and customized to the localuser. They will also be involved in developing session plans forcapacity -building workshops and facilitating the same to a variety of audiencesincluding teachers, parents, and other internal and external stakeholders. ​The challenges you will help solve in this role ·       The Academics team at Madhi largely comes from teaching backgrounds withexposure to modern and progressive education systems. As the Senior Associate,you will channel this modern knowledge into the curricular materials forunder -resourced schools.·       Addressing the unique challenges that the public education space faces.·       Planning and implementing novel projects applying various permutationsand combinations that ultimately address the foundational learning challenges·       Contribute purposefully to the growing body of knowledge on what worksand what doesn't work to improve last -mile educational outcomes for children,through the public sector delivery; in particular - by contextualising findingsto the Indian context. The Job Description  Below is an indicative set of responsibilities you will be required tolead as part of your role. This is a hybrid role, and based on prior experienceand interests, you may be more involved in one of the two core areas - contentdevelopment and capacity building. Adetailed description will be jointly created once the selection process hasbeen completed and you have accepted our offer of employment. In this role, some of your responsibilities will include ·       Creating high -quality, error -free curricularmaterials, primarily paper -based and digital content for children and teachersof grades 1 - 3, that align with the finalised frameworks and guidelines.·       Creating educational videos involves demonstrating in front of a camerafor real -time videos as well as storyboarding for animated videos  toCreate storyboards for animation and other videos.·       Creating capacity -building materials to develop andevaluate the knowledge, skills and mindsets of key stakeholders crucial toproject implementation and facilitating training spaces as per the needs of theproject/organisation.·       Ensuring all curricular and capacity -buildingmaterials meet national and international quality standards through periodicreviews and propose improvements informed by research. ​  RequirementsYou will thrive in thisrole if you: ·       Have a strong interest in pedagogy and are driven toconduct extensive research.·       Demonstrate a passion for learning and simplifycomplex processes for easy stakeholder understanding.·       Are proficient in reading and writing Tamil.·       Possess a growth mindset and are comfortable exploringsolutions to problems that may be unfamiliar at first. Mandatoryprerequisites include:  ·       A bachelor's degree preferably in the humanities orsocial sciences·       Excellent written communication skills in English·       0 -2 years' work experience in teaching, learningcontent development or teacher training·       Teaching experience in low -income schools will be anadded advantage.·       Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite and Google SuiteapplicationsYou will be expected to bring your own laptop withupdated software (MS Office 2016).
