About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to guide us in the design, development, and manufacturing of DC Motors. The consultant will engage with our team on a 3-month retainership basis, with the potential to extend the engagement based on performance and project needs.
The consultant will provide deep technical insights, review design architectures, suggest improvements, guide the prototyping and manufacturing processes, and ensure the solutions align with industry standards and efficiency expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on the design and architecture of DC motors (brushed and/or brushless).
- Review and refine technical specifications, design documents, and component selections.
- Assist in the setup of prototyping and manufacturing processes for DC motors.
- Advise on material selection, magnetic components, winding methods, and thermal management.
- Support optimization for performance, durability, and energy efficiency.
- Help establish SOPs and quality standards for in-house or outsourced motor production.
- Troubleshoot design or performance issues during development.
- Share industry best practices, innovations, and benchmarking.
- Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, procurement, and production.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in DC motor design and development (preferably across various applications - industrial, automotive, solar, etc.).
- Strong understanding of motor physics, electromagnetic design, torque-speed characteristics, and efficiency optimization.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD) and manufacturing processes.
- Prior consulting or advisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant BIS/IEC/ISO standards for motor design and testing.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
Engagement Terms:
- Duration: 3 months retainership (extendable upon satisfactory performance)
- Engagement Type: Part-time / Retainership
- Start Date: Immediate / As per mutual agreement
- Compensation: As per industry standards and experience
