Job Description – Design Director (Antique Jewellery)

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Ashapuri Gold Ornament Ltd., one of India's fastest-growing premium antique jewellery manufacturers, is seeking a visionary Design Director to lead our creative division. This role is for someone who can combine Traditional & Antique Jewellery with modern innovation, guiding a team to deliver collections that resonate with both domestic and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:


• Define the creative vision and design strategy for Ashapuri's antique and temple jewellery lines.


• Lead and inspire the design team (concept designers, CAD, gemstone planning, artisans) to deliver world-class collections.


• Drive the creation of signature collections aligned with market trends, client requirements, and brand positioning.


• Oversee the end-to-end design lifecycle, from inspiration and concept sketches to CAD development and final prototypes.


• Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and production to ensure designs are both commercially successful and manufacturable.


• Introduce design innovations while preserving Ashapuri's core identity in antique jewellery.


• Develop and mentor a high-performance design culture, encouraging creativity, research, and trend analysis.


• Represent the design team in corporate presentations, exhibitions (like IIJS), and client previews.

Requirements:


• 10–15 years of jewellery design experience, with strong expertise in antique/temple jewellery.


• Proven leadership in directing design teams and building successful collections.


• Strong understanding of CAD workflows, gemstones, and manufacturing feasibility.


• Eye for aesthetics, craftsmanship, and brand storytelling.


• Strategic mindset with ability to balance creative excellence with commercial goals.


• Excellent communication & presentation skills.
