Background:
The Global Business Group Finance Excellence Team (BG FET) is a core pillar within the Unilever Finance Operating Model. The BG FET design principle is to have expertise teams that directly business partners the Global Marketing, Finance and R&D teams under 3 core areas of Innovation, Budget Management and Performance Reporting & Analytics. Working within the BG FET provides ambitious individuals with the opportunity to experience the fast-paced environment of FMCG, working in a Global team with diverse stakeholders and exposure across all Unilever categories and markets.

The Innovation AFM role partners directly with the global Marketing & Finance teams to drive Innovation initiatives and performance management. As an expertise role, the individual will draw on their depth of expertise to drive more rigor to innovation business cases with the objectivity and courage to influence better decisions for the business.

Key Accountabilities:
Business Partnering & Insight
- Review business cases at a global level to drive faster decision making and innovation cycle across business groups
- Drive rigour and discipline around Post-Launch Evaluations (PLEs) for post launch projects in partnership with BG FBPs
- Provide insights and commentaries to Innovation Leadership Team on total innovation performance, contribution to company growth, PLE learnings and innovation trends
- Use depth of subject matter expertise to land new initiatives with the BGs to achieve overall company objective, address operational challenges and drive value in decision making
- Work closely with BG Finance Leads to drive improvement in Innovation data hygiene, achieving accuracy and completeness of the results
- Circulation of periodic reports and business required actions to achieve overall company goals

Process Ownership and Delivery
- Own the Innovation range of tools (Business Case Tools, Cannibalization Tool, Finance Metrics like GTO, iTO, WACC, Corporate Tax Rates etc) and drive continuous improvement, simplification & standardization
- Deliver Innovation trainings to Finance Business Partners & Marketers on Innovation finance topics and new initiatives
- Play leading role in the development of an "Innovation Community" where Finance teams are brought together across the globe to share best practice and techniques
