Job Description:

The company is looking for a project mechanical engineer to join their team at their Head Office, Mumbai. As a project Engineer, he will be primarily responsible for technical review of all fabrication / construction drawings before they are issued to the client / PMC / project site team. Besides, the candidate will also be responsible for coordinating with various project sites for monitoring their progress, billing , tracking project resources & providing regular project updates to the management.

Duties and Responsibilities:


• Thoroughly review the engineering drawings (prepared by inhouse Design team or Design Engineering Consultant DEC) from construction viewpoint to ensure that no issues are faced during the actual construction activities at site and any unforeseen construction cost impact is envisaged in advance and mitigated accordingly before the drawing is finalised for submission to the client / PMC and subsequently to the project site team.


• Review baseline & subsequent project schedules in line with contract requirements covering all activities from Engineering to commissioning.


• Prepare & issue PR (Purchase Requisition) for project materials to the procurement team


• Coordinate and communicate effectively with RCM, Project Head , site construction team , client & subcontractors in resolving technical issues.


• Review DPR, WPR & MPR as prepared by the planning engineer.


• Review the RA bills, measurement sheets, and all supporting documents for client certification.


• Review planned vs actual project progress and report to the management.


• Keep a close watch on the project expenses and review resource allocation based on input from all team members.


• Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team.


• Checking of drawings, Preparation of Project Requirement Notes/Material requests.


• Preparing Method statement and Execution methodology for tankage and piping work activity.

Requirements and Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Mech Engg.


• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Tank Fabrication and pipeline works.


• Knowledge of required codes and standards (API 650 specifically)


• Must be able to understand and review Tank and Piping drawings, P&IDs etc from execution viewpoint


• Must have detailed knowledge of Tank/pipeline construction sequences including prefabrication activity of Tanks, Prefabrication of piping and erection /welding etc.


• Must have good organizational, time management and planning skills


• Methodological approach


• High attention to detail


• Excellent communication and IT skills and relevant knowledge of Planning software including MS Project (if any).
