Instrumentation Calibration Engineer

Job Title: Calibration Engineer – Field Instruments (Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level)

Reports To: Quality Manager

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Quality/Calibration Engineer with hands-on expertise in calibration, testing, and verification of Pressure and Differential Pressure (DP) Transmitters and other field instruments. The role involves ensuring that all instruments meet the highest quality and accuracy standards, complying with industry norms and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform calibration and functional testing of Pressure, DP, and Temperature Transmitters using standard calibration equipment (deadweight testers, pressure controllers, dry block calibrators, etc.).
• Execute in-process and final quality inspections of instruments as per standard operating procedures.
• Maintain calibration records, certificates, and traceability documentation in compliance with ISO/IEC standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve calibration or functional issues during production.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.
• Collaborate with the production to implement process improvements.

Expected Knowledge of Transmitters:

• Basic understanding of transmitter principles – measurement of pressure, DP, and temperature.
• Knowledge of signal output standards (4–20 mA, HART) and calibration parameters (zero, span).
• Awareness of accuracy, linearity, and stability factors affecting transmitter performance.
• Familiarity with application use cases like level and flow measurement using DP transmitters.
• Troubleshooting skills for common errors such as zero shifts, output drift, or signal loss.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Hands-on experience in calibration and testing of field instruments.
• Knowledge of instrumentation standards (ISA, IEC, ISO).
• Familiarity with calibration tools, software, and data recording.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in calibration or quality roles within the field instrumentation industry.
• Exposure to NABL/ISO 17025 calibration practices will be an advantage.
