Role & responsibilities

  • Responsible for more than one zone or complete product
  • Mandatory Design Kick-off at the beginnning of the program (align with Scope, org chart, timing, Milestones etc)
  • For his product, define technical solutions and CAD data (2D & 3D) using proper Faurecia standard templates and CAD methodology
  • Program delivery planning and execution. Concept design, Master sections
  • Functional drawings
  • Tolerance stack book
  • GD&T (including KC for internal and customer needs)
  • Conduct weekly design reviews with team and management
  • Mandatory Top 5 with team to define work and feedback from previous day
  • Maintain team level SLI and discuss with SPDE for open points
  • Customer constraints and specifications.
  • Applicable regulations and legislation.
  • Assign detailed work to Project Design team through appropriated method Resource loading as per Kanban
  • Ensure Project Design team are aware of Faurecia Product Standards and Guidelines, and customer constraints and specifications.
  • Ensure process feasibility of the product design and A-Surfaces (with GTS team if needed).
  • Ensure overall product Design for Performance (including implementation into CAD of inputs with regard to results of simulation, tests and validation to meet performance criteria) with development engineering team, if needed.
  • Support the KPC identification, Support DFMEA.
  • At the end of a program, make appropriate capitalization documents (Lessons learned, Technical Reports) to feed/improve Design and Development standards and guidelines.
  • Identify training needs for the team members based on their skill matrix
  • To uphold & abide by code of ethics & Management
  • Awareness of QMS policy & Processes.
  • Ensuring all work process & procedures are in aline with QMS objectives & reporting any incident of deviation from QMS.

The main missions of the role are:

  • Responsible for detail product design according to standards and guidelines.
  • Masters specific areas of complete Seat, Frame, Plastic ,Foam and Accessories of a given technology.
  • STAR reviews of team members.
  • 1 on 1 with each team members, quarterly.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum education level: Engineering degree.

Experience :

  • Engineering degree, or significant professional experience
  • Total minimum 10 years experience of which at least 6 years of relevant experience in design as a product design engineer in automotive Seating design.
  • English required, and customers language strongly encouraged
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Significant experience on design of compltet Seat products.
  • Should know product launch life cycle.
  • Having experience of program level work.
  • Team handling experience.

Skills and competencies :

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements. ( ECE,FMVSS, ADR, AIS etc..)
  • knowledge of Safety, Comfort, Packaging and Environment layouts.
  • Thorough experience in Design and development in required domain , i.e. Seating's.
  • Knowledge of assigned program timing and deliverables at each milestone
  • Knowledge of program standards, tools and methods. like Tolerance stack, DFMEA, CAE, DVP, Test planning
  • Problem solving techniques. Exposure to A3, 8D and QRCI.
  • Strategic and analytical capabilities.
  • Shall able to conduct Design reviews with other departments and maintain SLI.
  • Able to support and train others in Leadership skills, Behaviors alignment, Communication skills, Presentation skills.
  • IATF16949, ISO9001 Standard knowledge & support for its compliance
