Opportunity Summary

We are looking for a forward-thinker wearing dual hats within the India organization (ie, Lam Capital-India and Corporate Development-India) who is passionate about the future possibilities in our industry to work with business leaders to shape our future growth strategies. You will lead the investigation and evaluation of new strategic business opportunities and initiatives, such as eco-system collaborations, startup investments, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and supply chain partnerships. You will set vision, strategies, and tactics by aligning with the Corporate stakeholders. As part of this role you will provide market and competitive intelligence that helps in strategic decision making and provide leadership in the development, diligence, and execution of strategic business opportunities and be effective at choosing the necessary team members to ensure success.

The impact you'll make (Lam Capital, India)

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify and screen new investment opportunities in the semiconductor, software, advanced materials, and manufacturing sector
• Collaborate with internal technology, engineering, and corporate stakeholders to identify strategic alignment and opportunities with potential investment candidates
• Conduct due diligence on potential investments, including financial, legal, technical, and operational aspects
• Perform financial modeling and valuation to assess the viability and growth potential of prospective investments
• Prepare investment memos and presentations to present investment recommendations to the investment committee
• Lead deal execution and portfolio management, including deal structuring, negotiation, closing, and post-investment monitoring
• Build and manage relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, and other partners in the venture ecosystem
• Frequently visit local VC networking events to build a deal funnel for Lam Capital.

• Acquires a deep understanding of the industry and the company
• Establishes strong and distinctive relationships within and outside the company
• Examines market data to detect trends/opportunities/threats, forms strategic direction based on market information, and prepares persuasive market analysis presentations.
• Cultivating an attractive pipeline of opportunities for management evaluation
• Presenting business or marketing opportunities to company leaders and managers.
• May perform make-versus-buy analysis from a partnership/merger/acquisition perspective.
• Creates and manages strategic partnerships

The group you'll be a part of

The Corporate Strategy Group charts our course for long-term profitable growth. This team drives Lam in the development of and alignment to our strategic priorities and key initiatives. Additionally, they oversee Lam's Corporate Development team and Lam Capital, which makes investments that help fuel technologies of the future.

What you'll do
Who we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. MBA, Advanced Technical or Engineering degree strongly preferred
• At least 7 years of experience in a similar role, ideally at a semiconductor or deeptech-focused venture capital firm or within a corporate venture capital group focused on semiconductors and/or deeptech
• Total relevant industry experience of at least 15 years
• Experience at a startup is a plus
• Experience in product management, technology development, business development, and/or corporate development is a strong plus
• Strong financial analysis and financial modeling skills, as well as proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Demonstrated passion for innovation and entrepreneurship
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Self-Starter, Creative and flexible problem solver who can cope with ambiguity and uncertainty

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
