Formulation Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize
    formulations for skincare, haircare, and cosmetic products
    (e.g., creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, face washes, etc.)
  • Conduct
    ingredient research
    , analyze market trends, and develop innovative concepts aligned with brand vision
  • Prepare laboratory batches and conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing
  • Ensure formulations meet
    regulatory, safety, and quality standards
    (BIS, FDA, etc.)
  • Work with packaging and manufacturing teams for
    pilot and scale-up
    production
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation: formulation records, lab notes, MSDS, COAs
  • Source and evaluate
    raw materials
    , including evaluating vendor samples and certifications
  • Liaise with suppliers for new and sustainable ingredients
  • Continuously review and upgrade existing formulations for performance and cost optimization
  • Stay updated with
    latest industry trends
    , clean beauty formulations, and green chemistry
  • Handle R&D lab operations, equipment calibration, and inventory management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in
    Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field
  • Minimum
    4 years of hands-on experience
    in
    formulating cosmetic/personal care products
  • Strong knowledge of
    functional cosmetic ingredients
    , emulsifiers, preservatives, actives, etc.
  • Understanding of
    regulatory guidelines
    for cosmetics
  • Proficient in maintaining formulation documentation and lab reports
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
