VP Sales- FMCG Brand Job Summary

The VP Sales will serve as the visionary leader of a dynamic Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) brand, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and sustainable profitability in a competitive consumer market. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the VP Sales will define the company's long-term vision, oversee all business functions, and foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, consumer insights, and market expansion. This role demands a proven track record in the FMCG or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector, with full P&L ownership and the ability to navigate evolving trends like digital transformation and supply chain resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership and Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan aligned with market trends, board directives, and consumer demands. Identify new revenue streams, product innovations, and partnerships to drive sustainable growth, market share expansion, and entry into domestic/international markets.
  • Financial Oversight and P&L Management: Take full ownership of the profit and loss statement, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation. Optimize costs, enhance profitability through pricing strategies, and ensure financial health via data-driven decisions and investor reporting.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee core functions such as supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, sales, marketing, and logistics to ensure efficiency, quality, and resilience. Implement best practices to streamline processes, manage inventory, and mitigate risks like disruptions or regulatory compliance.
  • Brand Development and Consumer Engagement: Champion a consumer-centric approach by leveraging market research and analytics to inform product innovation, marketing campaigns, and brand positioning. Strengthen brand equity across channels (e.g., retail, e-commerce) and TG.
  • Team and Culture Building: Build and lead a high-performing executive team, fostering an inclusive culture of accountability, innovation, and agility. Attract top talent, promote professional development, and act as the public face of the company in stakeholder and community engagements.
  • Market Expansion and Stakeholder Relations: Expand distribution networks, dealer relationships, and customer bases while maintaining strong ties with investors, distributors, and regulators. Drive digital initiatives for enhanced consumer engagement and competitive advantage.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 15-20 years of progressive leadership in the FMCG/CPG industry, including 5+ years in a VP Sales or equivalent P&L-responsible role. Proven success in scaling businesses, driving revenue growth, turnarounds, and market expansions.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and financial acumen, with expertise in P&L management, budgeting, and analytics.
  • Deep knowledge of consumer behavior, supply chain optimization, and digital/e-commerce strategies in FMCG.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills to inspire diverse teams and build stakeholder relationships.
  • Adaptability, proactive decision-making, and a results-oriented mindset in fast-paced, competitive environments.
  • Other: Fluency in English (additional languages advantageous for global roles); willingness to relocate if required (e.g., to key markets like Chicago or Indonesia).
