Role Description
·
Formulation Development:
o Develop and formulate new cosmetic products (e.g., skincare, haircare, body care) based on market trends, customer needs, and brand goals.
o Optimize existing formulations for performance, stability, texture, and sensory attributes.
o Select and source appropriate raw materials, actives, and ingredients to meet product claims (e.g., anti-aging, moisturizing).
o Work with suppliers to evaluate new ingredients, technologies, and trends in the cosmetic industry.

Product Testing and Stability:
o Conduct stability testing to ensure product quality and shelf-life under various conditions (e.g., temperature, light, humidity).
o Perform efficacy testing, including clinical and consumer testing, to verify claims (e.g., moisturizing, wrinkle reduction).
o Evaluate and improve the safety of formulations, ensuring compliance with cosmetic safety regulations.

Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure that all product formulations comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA Cosmetics Regulation).
o Prepare and review technical documentation for regulatory submissions and product claims.
o Stay updated on international regulations and standards affecting cosmetic formulations.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
o Work closely with marketing and product development teams to align formulations with consumer needs and brand positioning.
o Collaborate with manufacturing teams to scale formulations from laboratory batches to full-scale production.
o Provide technical expertise and guidance to packaging and production teams to ensure product stability, compatibility, and performance.

Innovation and Market Trends:
o Stay informed about emerging trends in the cosmetics industry, including new ingredients, formulations, and technologies.
o Develop innovative cosmetic products to meet market demands, including natural, organic, or sustainable options.
o Participate in brainstorming sessions and product innovation meetings.

Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of formulation processes, testing results, and raw material specifications.
o Prepare reports on product development progress, testing, and market analysis for internal stakeholders.
