
Accident & Emergency Care Technologist (A&E Care Tech)

Job Summary:
The Accident & Emergency Care Technologist provides immediate and effective medical care to patients in emergency situations, both in the hospital and during ambulance transport. The role involves assisting doctors, performing life-saving interventions, and ensuring patient safety and stabilization until definitive care is provided.
Eligibility:
- Diploma or BSc in Accident & Emergency Care Technology / Emergency Medical Services / Paramedical Sciences.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and preferably Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Registered with the relevant state or national paramedical council (if applicable).
Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Patient Care:
Provide immediate care to trauma, accident, and critically ill patients in the ER and during ambulance transport.
Monitor vital signs, administer first aid, and assist in resuscitation procedures.
Ambulance Services:
Operate and manage medical equipment in ambulances, including oxygen therapy, defibrillators, and monitors.
- Ensure timely and safe transport of patients to the hospital.
Maintain ambulance cleanliness, readiness, and medical supplies.
Clinical Support:
Assist doctors and nurses during emergency procedures such as intubation, wound management, and splinting.
Prepare and maintain emergency kits, blood products, and trauma equipment.
Documentation & Reporting:
Record patient history, interventions, and treatments accurately in emergency and transport logs.
Report critical incidents and handover detailed patient information to ER or ICU teams.
Infection Control & Safety:
Follow strict infection control protocols and ensure safety of patients and team members.
Participate in emergency drills and continuous skill development programs.
Coordination & Communication:
Communicate effectively with patients, attendants, and hospital staff during emergencies.
- Coordinate with local authorities or external medical teams when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or BSc in Accident & Emergency Care / Emergency Medical Technology / Paramedical Science.
- Certification in BLS / ACLS / First Aid.
- Strong problem-solving skills, quick decision-making ability, and physical stamina.
