Reports to: Senior Design Engineer or Design Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Solar Design Engineer to assist in the design and drafting of residential solar PV systems. This role involves working on California-based solar projects in close coordination with senior engineers and U.S.-based teams to develop accurate, code-compliant plan sets and system layouts using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, Aurora Solar, and SolarGraf.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing rooftop PV system layouts using AutoCAD and SolarGraf tools.
  • Support array placement, inverter selection, and string sizing based on site and electrical constraints.
  • Conduct remote site assessments using provided site survey images and satellite imagery.
  • Generate array layout, shade reports, and basic site assessments from provided site survey photos.
  • Draft permit-ready plan sets including site plans, roof layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and electrical details.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC 2017/2020 and applicable local codes under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Must have knowledge of NEM (Net Energy Metering), Export, Non-export and California solar rules and regulations.

· Must have knowledge of Tesla and Enphase battery storage systems.

  • Maintain organized project documentation and update design inputs on salesforce.
  • Collaborate with U.S. teams via Microsoft teams, Zoom, and email to incorporate feedback and design changes.
  • Participate in internal training on NEC, NEM policies, U.S. permitting standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct internal quality checks of design packages before final submission.
  • Track assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and report progress to senior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in solar PV & ESS System design.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Aurora Solar or SolarGraf.
  • Good understanding of solar PV systems and electrical components.
  • Knowledge of NEC/CEC code is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced solar design team.
  • Ability to work independently with strong self-research capabilities and minimal supervision.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹300, ₹400,000.00 per year
