Selected Intern's Day-to-day Responsibilites Include

  • Top 3 Daily Tasks:
  • Monitoring and managing server performance to ensure uptime, reliability, and security.
  • Providing technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Maintaining documentation and configuration records for compliance and operational continuity.
  • Daily Operations:
  • Assisting in installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and enterprise software.
  • Supporting networking operations – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN.
  • Monitoring systems and troubleshooting issues; escalating critical incidents when necessary.
  • Providing ticket-based IT support ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Learning and assisting in virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
  • Participating in backup & recovery operations – snapshots, replication, and restores.
  • Monitoring network performance and security, reporting irregularities to senior admins.
  • Collaborating with the IT team to implement and enforce IT policies & procedures.
  • Engaging with users to understand needs and provide effective technical support.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies and suggesting infrastructure improvements.
  • Administering and Supporting Windows Active Directory (AD):
  • Creating user and group accounts, resetting passwords, and managing permissions.
  • Managing Organizational Unit (OU) structure and implementing Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Joining and managing devices within the AD domain (Windows endpoints, laptops, servers).
  • Assisting in troubleshooting login, authentication, and policy deployment issues.
  • Maintaining AD hygiene – auditing inactive accounts, enforcing password policies, and monitoring event logs.
