Role: ServiceNow DevOps Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team and play a vital role in ensuring the quality, security, builds, configuration, and deployments of our web-based applications. The engineer will be responsible for key aspects of the software development lifecycle: design and security, testing methodologies and platforms, configuration and deployment, maintenance, and patching support. A key aspect of this role involves conducting readiness reviews before products launch, and post launches, to ensure software scales, meets uptime and performance metrics, and remains secure and cost-effective. Our ideal candidate will possess a background in software development, quality assurance, configuration management, and production operations, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Platform Maintenance & Optimization 
- Lead and execute ServiceNow platform upgrades, downgrades, and patch management. 
- Manage and conduct cloning activities, including pre-clone and post-clone tasks.
- Monitor system health and performance, ensuring maximum platform reliability and availability. 
- Troubleshooting & Support 
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams. 
- Provide root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated ServiceNow incidents.
- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and implement solutions. 
- Development & Customization 
- Design, develop, and implement custom ServiceNow applications, workflows, and deployment scripts. 
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain documentation for developed solutions, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work with the onshore/Offshore partners to develop, operational, and security processes, for new and existing products, to meet client needs and maintain high security postures and operational metrics.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and identify system requirements. 
- Continuous Improvement 
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and optimize existing workflows. 
- Stay current with new ServiceNow features, new configuration & deployment technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Engineer or similar role.
- Proven expertise in ServiceNow platform upgrades, downgrades, and cloning activities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex platform issues.
- Experience in ServiceNow development, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Flow Designer.
- Proficiency in scripting languages used in ServiceNow (JavaScript, GlideScript).
- Familiarity with ITSM, ITOM, OMT and other ServiceNow modules.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and automation within the ServiceNow ecosystem is a plus.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise tools and platforms.
