US Tax Senior Officer

Company: Client of Miles

Location: Hyderabad / Mumbai / Noida

Qualification: CPA / EA

Experience: Minimum 4 years in US Business Tax, Individual Tax, and US Accounts

Shift Timing:

  • 03:00 PM IST to 12:30 AM IST (Indian Summers)
  • 04:00 PM IST to 01:30 AM IST (Indian Winters)

Roles and Responsibilities:

Business Tax Preparation (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065):

  • Prepare Federal & State income tax returns for C Corporation (Form 1120), S Corporation (Form 1120S), and Partnership (Form 1065).
  • Good knowledge of Schedule M3.
  • Working knowledge of Schedule K2 & K3.
  • Practical experience with tax preparation software.
  • Handle partner/shareholder addition, removal, and change in ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of Form 4562 (Depreciation and Amortization) including HY/MY conversion method.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and tax authorities.
  • Knowledge of all relevant source documents and schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously, prioritize under tight deadlines, and deliver signature-ready work independently.

Individual Tax Preparation (HNI & Individual Returns):

  • Review Federal & State income tax returns for Individual tax return (Form 1040).
  • Practical experience with Ultra Tax or Proconnect software.
  • Strong knowledge of Schedule C, Schedule E, Depreciation, Sale of Assets, Section 121 Exclusion, and K1 reporting.
  • Handle communication with clients and tax authorities effectively.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to reprioritise quickly and manage projects from initiation to completion independently.

Accounting:

  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Knowledge of year-end adjustment entries.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, credit card, and bank reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in accounting using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
