Role purpose:

The Developer Lead is engaged in all aspects of a project, they design the Pega solution end-to-end. Using a Business Architect's functional design, he should creates the technical design, develops the enterprise class structure and reviews infrastructure requirements such as data architecture definitions and data management plans. He should leads technical teams, delivers technical guidance and advice, enables team members, and provides knowledge transfer to customer.

To succeed, the Lead Pega Developer must:

• Demonstrate complete mastery of all aspects of Pega PRPC technology
• Processes, UI, Integrations, Agents, Performance Tuning, Designing Class Structures etc.
• Successfully translate functional designs into technical solutions using Pega best practices.
• Ensure adherence to Pega development guardrails.
• Work closely with customer architects to ensure approval.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to other members of the technical team.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science.
• Pega CSSA certify
• 7+years of experience working on different Pega projects creating designs and developing implementations of Pega multi-process applications.
• Strong Design Skills.
• Deep knowledge of Pega application design and development best practices.
• Track record of successful Pega application implementations that meet user needs.
• Qualified candidates must also have superior aptitude for analytical concepts, oral and written communication skills, customer focus, teamwork abilities, integrity, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred:

• 7+ years of experience working on different Pega projects developing implementations of Pega multi-process applications.
• At least one Project should be starting from greenfield/from scratch up until PROD go live incl. Performance tuning.
• Telco domain knowledge is a plus
• Pega 7.2 and Pega 8.2 knowledge is a plus
• PegaCall and CTI integration
• General IT skills such as Java programming, Unix shell scripting, Oracle DB SQL scripting, Weblogic/general application server concepts.
• Having rich experience in migrating and upgrading the Pega application.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership [max 5]:

• Be able to analyse and understand as well as create technical designs based on Pega PRPC ensuring a high standard of software delivery following SOA and integration architectural practices
• Collaborate with offshore and onshore designers and developers to prepare effective designs and deliver required functional and non-functional benefits and follow industry best practice.
• Help to resolve technical issues and mitigate technical risks across the Domain technical portfolio
• Pega performance analysis and tuning

Core competencies, knowledge and experience [max 5]:

• Must have acted as responsible Lead developer on at least one previous Pega project
• Must have excellent working knowledge of Pega version 7.x and 8.x and Constellation
• Must have solid foundation of developer level general IT Knowledge (Oracle DBs/SQL, Unix, integration protocols
• Ability to communicate effectively especially in an onsite/offshore setup
• Excellent analytical skills, able to understand complex software systems

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Degree or higher degree in software engineering or related technical discipline
• PEGA Certified System

Key performance indicators [max 3]:

• Delivery of high quality Pega designs in a timely manner for implementation
• Credible and reliable technical expertise and leadership backed up by substantial software engineering and architectural experience
• Good professional communication skills and collaborative teamwork.
