Role Description

Manage the global product portfolio ensuring competitiveness, profitability in alignment with customer and market needs. Steer product portfolio development, initiate strategic measures on product lines and product launches, Implement pricing guidelines and policies to ensure overall sustainable profitability, Together with global technical management, define and approve re-siting, insourcing and R&D projects, Assess the market developments, competitive environments and customer needs to serve target customers and industry segments and foster information sharing within the leather unit and active communication of measures and changes

Job Responsibilities

· Define and execute the global product strategy for Wet-End, ensuring alignment with corporate and business objectives.

· Steer dyes product portfolio, initiate strategic measures for long term competitiveness

· Pricing management to achieve target profitability and guide sales on price actions

· Define actions to ensure margin improvement factoring cost drivers and market price

· Validate new products in terms of business cases, price positioning, registration and launch communication

· Commercial approach to selective products to support sales development

· Drive key product portfolio projects (e.g., ZDHC, Ympact etc.) to achieve strategic objectives

· Resolve supply issues, product allocations, raw material changes to maintain healthy supply situation

· Develop product documentation, technical datasheets, and guidelines for internal and external use.

· Engage in supplier discussion for technical support and price negotiation Manage the complete product lifecycle: introduction, growth, maturity, and phase-out.

· Collect and analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities for new products, improvements, or substitutions.

· Collaborate with R&D and Technical Management to guide product development, ensuring technical performance and customer value creation.

· Provide global technical expertise and support to regional sales and technical teams, ensuring harmonized application and positioning.

· Develop product documentation, technical datasheets, and guidelines for internal and external use.

· Support global pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with market positioning and profitability targets.

Monitor product performance (sales, margin, application results) and prepare regular reporting to management.

Education: Master's degree in chemistry

, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field. 

Relevant Working Experience

·      Should have a background / knowledge on dyes chemistry

·      5–7 years of experience in product management, technical service, or R&D within the chemical, leather, or related industries.

·      Strong background in Wet-End processes, technologies, and applications.

·      Experience in managing global projects and working in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications/Skills

· Solid technical expertise in Wet-End chemistry and applications.

· Strong analytical and market-oriented mindset.

· Excellent project management and organizational skills.

· Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.

Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.

Willingness to work on-site in Tamil Nadu, India, and openness to occasional global travel
