Thar Opportunity Fund is a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The Fund has been established with the objective of providing long-term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of equity, debt, and hybrid instruments, with a special focus on emerging opportunities in high-growth sectors of the Indian economy.

The Fund is backed by the Thar Group, which has a strong track record in financial services through its NBFC arm, Thar Commercial Finance Pvt. Ltd., and its investment entity, JRT Holdings LLP. With a combined experience in lending, capital markets, and structured finance, the Group brings deep domain expertise and disciplined risk management practices to the Funds operations.

Thar Opportunity Fund is structured to deliver sustainable returns with prudent risk management, while offering investors exposure to both growth and stability.

In compliance with SEBI (AIF) Regulations, the Fund appoints a qualified Manager with the requisite NISM certification, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of governance, transparency, and professional fund management.

Fund: Thar Opportunity Fund (Category II AIF)

Designation: Investment Manager

Reporting to: Investment Committee / Sponsor

Key Responsibilities

Fund Management & Investments

Formulate and implement investment strategies aligned with the Fund's objectives.

Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across equity, debt, and hybrid instruments.

Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and risk assessment for proposed investments.

Monitor portfolio performance and recommend timely exit/realignment strategies.

Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure full compliance with SEBI (AIF) Regulations and other applicable laws.

Maintain necessary records, registers, and disclosures as required under AIF regulations.

Coordinate with regulators, auditors, custodians, and other stakeholders for timely submissions.

Oversee compliance of the Limited Value Fund (LVF) activities with SEBI guidelines and internal policies.

Operations & Day-to-Day Management

Handle day-to-day operations of the Fund including investor servicing, reporting, and documentation.

Oversee cash flow management, accounting, and NAV calculations in coordination with fund administrators.

Implement strong governance and risk management practices.

Investor Relations

Prepare and present periodic reports on Fund performance, portfolio updates, and market outlook.

Address investor queries and ensure transparency in communication.

Qualifications & Certification

Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Economics, or related discipline.

Valid NISM certification as required under SEBI (AIF) Regulations.

Strong knowledge of capital markets, investment analysis, and fund management.

Skills & Attributes
