Sanwiti is a non-profit organization dedicated to de-stigmatizing mental health and providing accessible mental well-being resources. We are a passionate, founder-led team committed to offering direct, empathetic support to those in need.

We are seeking a compassionate, qualified, and ethical Counsellor to provide confidential mental health support to our community members. You will be a cornerstone of our service, offering a safe space for individuals to discuss their challenges. This role involves conducting remote counselling sessions (via video or phone) and maintaining professional standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions for clients, focusing on brief, solution-focused therapy or supportive counselling.
  2. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all ethical guidelines for counsellors.
  3. Keep timely and accurate (but brief and confidential) session notes for internal records.
  4. 'Assess students' needs and, when necessary, refer them to more intensive or specialized mental health services (e.t., clinical psychologists, psychiatrists).

Qualifications & Skills

Education:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree (or current enrollment in a Master's program) in Psychology, Counselling, Clinical Social Work, or a closely related field.

Experience
: Demonstrable experience in providing one-on-one counselling (this can include internship or placement experience).

Skills:

  • Strong active listening and communication skills.
  • Deep empathy and a non-judgmental, person-centered approach.
  • A firm understanding of ethical boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Reliable, professional, and punctual.
