Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of R&D chemists; ensure timely project execution.
  • Design synthetic routes, optimize reaction conditions, and troubleshoot process challenges.
  • Conduct impurity profiling and implement practical purification and isolation techniques.
  • Plan and execute lab-scale to pilot-scale scale-up, ensuring process reproducibility and safety.
  • Facilitate technology transfer by preparing process documentation, batch records, and SOPs.
  • Perform analytical interpretation using NMR, MS, HPLC, GC and support method development teams.
  • Maintain laboratory safety, data integrity, and compliance with confidentiality protocols.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, procurement, and project management teams for smooth execution.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with 3–5 years relevant industry experience

OR M.Sc. in Chemistry with 12–15 years relevant experience.

  • Hands-on experience in agrochemical/chemical R&D and process development.
  • Strong understanding of reaction mechanisms, scale-up principles, and cost-effective route design.

Skills

  • Team leadership and project management.
  • Strong problem-solving and literature search capabilities (SciFinder, Reaxys).
  • Ability to generate clear technical documentation and communicate with cross-functional teams.

Opportunity
