Seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks + FEA) to join our design team for a leading global manufacturer of high-performance air suspension and load-management systems for commercial and specialty vehicles.

Role Summary

Lead simulation-driven mechanical design and optimization of precision-engineered metal components. The role focuses on design efficiency, manufacturability, and performance validation using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation (FEA).

Key Responsibilities

Lead redesign and optimization of metal brackets using SolidWorks and FEA.

Run static, modal and nonlinear simulations. Set boundary conditions and loads. Validate safety factors.

Reduce mass and material cost while meeting design safety and functional requirements.

Perform topology and parametric optimization. Produce manufacturable geometry.

Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and GD&T for production.

Collaborate with manufacturing, process engineering and suppliers to ensure producibility.

Produce clear FEA reports with assumptions, results, and recommendations.

Support prototype testing and correlate test vs. simulation.

Present findings to stakeholders and join technical calls as needed.

Required Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and FEA.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD) and SolidWorks Simulation.
• Demonstrable portfolio of optimized bracket or structural part designs and FEA results.
• Strong understanding of materials, sheet/formed metals, and manufacturing processes. Excellent technical documentation and English communication skills.

Technical Skills (Must-Have)

• SolidWorks (modeling, drawings, configurations).
• SolidWorks Simulation: meshing, load cases, convergence, interpretation.
• Topology/size optimization workflows.
• Familiarity with fatigue, contact, and nonlinear analyses (preferred).
• GD&T and production drawing standards.
• Basic scripting or automation for design iterations (advantage).
• Full English communication (Written and Verbal).

Preferred Experience

• Topology optimization or experience with alternate FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.).
• Hands-on prototype testing and test-to-analysis correlation.
• Proven success in reducing weight and cost of over-designed parts.
• Global collaboration exposure with U.S./European clients.
