Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Scrum Master 5+ years with a strong background in Agile delivery and tooling, responsible for leading cross-functional teams, optimizing Agile workflows in JIRA, and driving data-informed continuous improvement. Skilled in backlog management, team coaching, and removing technical impediments to ensure high-velocity, high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Agile teams by identifying and proactively resolving technical or process-related impediments that impact delivery.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain a technically structured, prioritized, and groomed product backlog.
• Configure, optimize, and maintain Agile boards and workflows (e.g., JIRA) to accurately reflect engineering team processes and dependencies.
• Leverage Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, cycle time, and cumulative flow diagrams to track progress and drive data-informed decisions.
• Promote standardization of work items with clear technical definitions of ready/done, story points, automation rules, and labeling conventions.
• Ensure backlog hygiene by regularly reviewing and eliminating stale, outdated, or duplicate items, including technical debt and spike stories.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and experimentation through retrospectives and team collaboration.
• Communicate risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies clearly to internal and external technical stakeholders.
• Encourage data-driven retrospectives and sprint reviews, using insights to guide technical and process improvements.

Role Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or equivalent Agile certification.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Scrum Master, including working closely with engineering or DevOps teams.
• Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and Agile plug-ins or integrations (e.g., Advanced Roadmaps, Automation, ScriptRunner).
• Able to interpret and present Agile metrics to both technical and business stakeholders for actionable insights.
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional technical teams and foster high-collaboration environments.
• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating technical blockers, dependencies, and delivery risks to non-technical audiences.
• Passionate about Agile principles, automation, and engineering best practices in an iterative delivery environment.
