Role & responsibilities

To support research and development activities within the Lead Acid Battery category, contributing to innovation, performance optimization, and cost-effective product solutions. The role involves hands-on experimentation, testing, data analysis, and assisting in the design and development of new and improved battery technologies.

  • Conduct lab experiments and pilot-scale trials to evaluate new materials, additives, or processes.
  • Support prototype development, electrochemical testing, and validation activities.
  • Record and analyse experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to senior R&D management.
  • Analyse critical data related to product field performance and failures including failure modes and analytics related to same
  • Assist in benchmarking studies of competitor products and new technologies.
  • Ensure timely execution of test plans aligned with NPD and R&D programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, and Procurement during trials and scale-up.
  • Interfacing with customer on NPD and quality complaint related issues.
  • Prior experience of APQP preparation and submission of Production part approval process

Preferred candidate profile

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of Lead Acid Battery chemistry and materials.
  • Familiarity with lab-scale battery testing techniques (e.g., charge/discharge cycles, impedance analysis).
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing .

  • Ability to interpret test data, charts, and performance trends.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Origin, MATLAB) and technical reporting.
