Summary

HCL Workload Automation Lab services team is looking for a Lab Services senior Consultant to help drive business growth through Professional services delivery and Migration Center of Excellence (COE) improvement. The HCL Software Lab Services team is a global organization responsible for delivering Professional Services to enable customers to gain their business values quickly by implementing HCL Workload Automation Solution.

Primary Focus for this Senior Consultant /Architect will be providing expert consultancy to customer, owning migration and implementation projects from initial client assessment , and Architecture design thru any project successful completion, partnering with other teams in the organization and with the client.Role, Characteristics and responsibilities:

The Workload Automation Consultant is a customer-facing role that:

• Takes a solution and consultative approach to identify, progress, implement and close projects at customer site, working closely across the HCL Software, as well as with the broader HCL Technologies teams.
• Provides proactive technical support to customers and has ownership for resolving technical issues that may arise during customer projects
• Understanding customer needs transforms them in requirements and develops solutions.
• Delivers lab services billable consulting work, being measured on Billable Utilization rate as a function of time-reporting
• Exhibits a strong communication style with maturity to be able to adjust his style to get the best from the situation
• Has excellent presentation skills, and will be proficient in the use of a variety of presentation tools
• Has good self-awareness and will be able to identify when influencing and/ or negotiation skills are needed.
• Has experience of developing accurate and concise project documentation that will be used by colleagues and customers
• Has an improvement focused approach and will recommend improvements to process and tools
• Has experience delivering and leading technical engagements, has the technical knowledge and the maturity to be accepted as expert in his field of technology.
• Has A flexible approach to work to ensure that projects are completed in scope and on time.
• The Professional Consultant might be required to travel and work at customer sites
• He will also engage in the pre-sale cycle and will provide Infrastructure consultancy, including audits and assessments to support the sales team in their proposals.

All Consultants are expected to have a passion for their role and will have a desire to learn about developing technology and solutions so that they are best informed to provide solutions to the customer

Required experience:

The Workload Automation Consultant has at least 10+ years' experience in delivery of in the workload automation domain with products like IWS-IBM Workload Scheduler, HWA, BMC Control-M,Autosys etc. Ability to talk, understand and work with customers delivering architecture and solutions.

Key skills :

• Proficiency in English language
• Master Workload automation knowledge (tools like IWS/Control-M, Broadcom Autosys, Automic etc..), with proven expertise as a Workload automation operator/administrator/scheduler.
• Distributed OS knowledge, plus related DB, IWS / HWA Admin(L3)
• High Experience in installing and upgrading IWS / HWA environments to older version to newer version.
• Experience Migrating from competition tools like Autosys, Control-M, Redwood, Automic etc
• Troubleshooting Issues related to the migration / upgradation to HWA.
• Good knowledge and experience of Customer certificate integration.
• Handing communication issues with FTA and Dynamic agents.
• Sound knowledge on scripting and familiarity with Windows/UNIX environment. Creation/Modification of shell, python, windows scripts in new platforms.
• Expert knowledge in IWS / HWA architecture and components.
• Adding/modifying/updating of jobs on IWS / HWA using command line interface (conman and composure).
• Sound knowledge on Scheduling jobs that help in conversion of jobs from competitor tools to HWA. Bulk job creation, modification. Scheduling jobs for Plugins / applications like SAP, People soft etc.
• Fixing job issues and debugging skills of job abends and failures.
• Action ad hoc request on active job scheduling environment.
• Handling outages and DR scenarios. Troubleshooting Agents, Communication issues.
• Generate Reports in usual formats and delivery.
• Verse in forecasts, scheduling criteria, attributes, job definitions and reporting.
• IWS / HWA agent's installations (FTA, DA, XA, SA) in Windows and Unix environments and expert in SSL certificate implementation.
• Monitoring, daily critical schedules and proactively identifying the issues.
• Knowledge of HCL Universal Orchestrator.

Other skills:

1. Good communication skills to interact with customers.
2. Good understanding of ITIL process. Open to 24/7 support and working in shifts.
