Job Description Pre-Policy Medical Examination Doctor (BAMS / Allied Specialties)

Role Title: Pre-Policy Medical Examination Doctor

Department: Medical Underwriting / Health Assessment

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift Timings: 6am - 2pm 2pm -6 pm

Role Overview

The doctor will be responsible for conducting comprehensive Online medical examinations for insurance applicants as part of the pre-policy evaluation process. The role ensures accurate health assessment, documentation, audit compliance, and risk identification to support underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed pre-policy medical examinations as per insurer protocols.
  • Review and interpret diagnostic test reports (blood tests, ECG, X-ray, urine analysis, etc.).
  • Identify medical risks, red flags, and pre-existing conditions relevant to underwriting.
  • Document findings accurately in prescribed formats and digital systems.
  • Provide medical clarification to underwriting teams when required.
  • Perform periodic audits of medical reports, documentation quality, and adherence to protocols.
  • Identify gaps, errors, or deviations in examination processes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit guidelines, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with diagnostic centres, labs, and internal teams for seamless assessment.
  • Participate in training sessions and quality audits to improve assessment accuracy.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • BAMS / BHMS / Allied Health Specialties.
  • Valid registration with relevant medical council or board.
  • Experience in medical examinations, clinical practice, audits, or health assessments preferred.
