Mathematics & Physics Faculty

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Physics and Mathematics Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about both subjects, possess a deep understanding of the curriculum, and be skilled in creating an engaging, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment for students. This role involves teaching a range of classes in both Physics and Mathematics across various grade levels, inspiring students to explore and appreciate the interconnected nature of these two foundational disciplines. Candidate must be available from 12-9 pm from Monday to Saturday. Should be willing to go around the South Kolkata centres (Kasba, Nayabad & Prince Anwar Shah Road) on a fixed routine basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction and Curriculum: Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Physics (e.g., Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics) and Mathematics (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics) according to the school's curriculum and standards; Integrate mathematical concepts into physics lessons and vice-versa to illustrate real-world applications and deepen understanding; Employ a variety of instructional techniques and technology to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students; Develop and implement effective laboratory experiences and practical investigations for Physics classes.
• Assessment and Feedback: Create, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and projects promptly and effectively; Provide constructive and timely feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and achievement; Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance.
• Student Support and Development: Monitor and address the academic and behavioural needs of students, offering extra help or differentiated instruction when necessary; Foster a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude towards STEM subjects; Act as a mentor and role model for students.
• Professionalism and Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members and department heads to review, update, and improve curriculum materials and teaching methods; Participate in school-wide professional development programs, faculty meetings, and departmental planning sessions; Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians about student progress and school activities; Supervise students during school hours, activities, and field trips as required.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Education, or a closely related field.
• Certification: Valid teaching certification/license for secondary or high school level, with qualifications to teach both Physics and Mathematics (or the equivalent).
• Experience: Previous teaching experience in both Physics and Mathematics is highly preferred.
• Knowledge & Skills: Exceptional knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies for both subjects; Proficiency in utilising educational technology and laboratory equipment; Strong classroom management skills; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
