Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled
Firewall Engineer
with 5–7 years of proven expertise in networking and security technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in architecting, designing, and deploying secure network infrastructures, with the ability to manage complex multi-vendor environments and automate workflows using modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Implementation:
    Architect, design, and deploy firewall and network solutions to support enterprise-level infrastructure.
  • Firewall Management:
    Perform firewall upgrades, migrations, and integrations across multi-vendor environments (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Automation:
    Develop automation scripts and workflows using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab pipelines.
  • Cloud Networking:
    Design and implement secure connectivity for public cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, or Oracle).
  • Infrastructure Support:
    Provide operational expertise in DHCP/DNS/IPAM, Load Balancers (F5 with iRules), Proxies, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection, and Time protocols.
  • Capacity Planning & Monitoring:
    Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and monitoring of network applications and services.
  • Testing & Validation:
    Leverage staging/testing environments for proof of concept and change validation.
  • Collaboration:
    Promote documentation, knowledge sharing, and teamwork within cross-functional environments.
  • On-call Support:
    Participate in on-call rotation and provide occasional weekend support (compensated).

Skills & Qualifications

  • Core Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of traffic patterns, packet capture, and network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTPS/SSL/TLS).
  • Proven hands-on experience with Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Familiarity with Load Balancers (F5 with iRules), Infoblox DDI, and Cloudflare/Akamai solutions.
  • Knowledge of RIRs, DNS registrars, and IPAM tools.
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with proxies, packet capture devices, IDS/IPS, and DDoS mitigation.
  • Cloud networking constructs for at least one provider (Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle).
  • Monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaborative mindset.
