Role Summary:

  • Lead the development of Dolly J's womenswear line, focusing on high-end ethnic couture.
  • Conceptualize, design, and oversee the creation of the first collection.
  • Play a key role in expanding the brand into womenswear while maintaining its legacy.

Success in This Role:

  • Deliver a unique, high-quality womenswear collection blending ethnic and contemporary styles.
  • Ensure seamless execution of designs from concept to production.
  • Foster creativity and mentor junior designers.

Role's Fit in the Organization:

  • Collaborate closely with the Head Designer and production team.
  • Contribute to Dolly J's growth in the couture market.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead womenswear design, blending ethnic and luxury fashion elements.
  • Create detailed sketches and technical drawings.
  • Oversee the production process, ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Mentor junior designers and encourage collaboration.
  • Guide the development of prototypes and first pieces.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Womenswear Designer in couture or luxury fashion.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse, high-quality designs.
  • Expertise in fabrics, garment construction, and manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Degree in Fashion Design or related field (or equivalent experience).
