Power BI Engineer

About the Role :We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BI Platform Administrator & Analyst to join our growing Data Analytics team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, including Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx. You will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of these platforms, as well as developing strong BI development skills to partner with the business in designing insightful reports and dashboards.

This position requires a strong technical background in data analytics technologies, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to act as the central point of contact for BI platform-related matters. Key Responsibilities :BI Platform Administration :

• Perform comprehensive BI administration activities related to hundreds of reporting and visualization capabilities across Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx.
• This includes user management, security configuration, license management, and platform upgrades.

Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis :

• Demonstrate a strong ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of production incidents affecting BI platforms.
• Establish effective countermeasures and implement solutions to improve platform stability and Monitoring and Optimization :
• Monitor server activity and usage statistics to identify potential performance issues and areas for enhancement.
• Implement optimizations to ensure the BI platforms are running efficiently and Tuning and Server Management :
• Manage and perform performance tuning of the BI platform environment, including clustering, load balancing, and resource allocation, to ensure optimal performance and Management and Migration :
• Manage and support the migration of BI content (reports, dashboards, workflows) from development to production environments, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.

BI Development and Business Partnering :

• Develop strong BI development skills, partnering closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and design effective Tableau and Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights.

Central Point of Contact :

• Act as the core point of contact for all BI platform-related issues, recommendations, and support requests.
• Provide timely and effective communication to stakeholders regarding platform status and and

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI platform configurations, processes, and best practices.

Security and Compliance :

• Ensure the security and compliance of the BI platforms, adhering to organizational policies and industry best practices.

Technical Skills Required :

• Proven expertise in Data Analytics technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx.
• Strong understanding of BI platform administration activities, including user management, security, and licensing.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of production incidents on BI platforms.
• Experience in monitoring server activity and usage statistics to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and server management of BI platform environments (clustering, load balancing).
• Experience managing and supporting the migration of BI content between environments.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and database technologies.
• Ability to develop and design effective reports and dashboards using Tableau and Power BI.Additional Skills :
• Experience with database administration and SQL querying.
• Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Understanding of cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., Azure Analysis Services, AWS QuickSight).
• Experience with data governance and data quality practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience in BI platform administration and data analytics.
• Proven track record of managing and supporting BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx).
• Relevant certifications in Power BI, Tableau, or other BI technologies are a plus.
