Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior OpenShift / Kubernetes Architect
with expertise in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale OpenShift (OCP) clusters across production and lab environments. The candidate will be responsible for solution architecture, deployment, security hardening, monitoring, storage integration, and supporting high-availability Kubernetes-based environments. The role involves hands-on technical implementation, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

Cluster Deployment & Architecture

• Design and implement
  RedHat OpenShift clusters
  across Production and LAB environments.
• Setup of
  air-gapped OCP installation
  on HPE Synergy 480 Gen 11 (Production) and HPE BL460c Gen 10 (LAB).
• Build
  4 OCP clusters
  (Production Site-1, Production Site-2, LAB1, LAB2) with 3 master nodes and N worker nodes in each.
• Develop
  High-Level Design (HLD)
  and
  Low-Level Design (LLD)
  documentation for OCP deployment.
• Configure
  Multus (CNI)
  for external IP communication and
  Portworx (CSI plugin)
  for database nodes.
• Implement geo-redundancy and failover strategies.

Security & Best Practices

• Apply
  CIS Security Hardening
  for Kubernetes and underlying nodes.
• Implement
  RBAC
  , image policies, Kubernetes security policies, and certificate management.
• Setup
  Ingress controllers
  , API server configurations, and HA Proxy load balancing with SSL and KeepAlive.

Networking & Infrastructure

• Configure
  DNS, DHCP, NTP (Chrony)
  for cluster networking.
• Integrate Kubernetes clusters with
  network switches and SAN storage
  .
• Implement
  SNMP alerting
  and monitoring.

Storage & Logging

• Setup
  Portworx
  for persistent storage.
• Deploy and configure
  Container Registry (Quay)
  .
• Integrate
  Elasticsearch + Kibana
  for application logs.
• Configure
  Rsyslog
  for node log forwarding, archival policies, and external log analyzer integration.
• Support
  sidecar containers (e.g., Logstash)
  for centralized log forwarding.

Monitoring & Observability

• Deploy
  Prometheus & Grafana dashboards
  for monitoring cluster resources (CPU, Memory, Disk, Network).
• Configure alerts for node, pod, and persistent storage.
• Ensure continuous monitoring of infra and application workloads.

Cluster Administration & Operations

• Perform
  installation, upgrades, and patching
  at node and Kubernetes level.
• Manage
  backup & restore
  processes (ETCD snapshots, import/export backups).
• Validate cluster health via test deployments and functional checks.
• Support application deployments & ATP post-migration tests.
• Support
  Couchbase, Portworx, and other middleware installations
  on Kubernetes.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Prepare
  HLD, LLD, MOPs
  for production deployments.
• Provide
  end-to-end documentation
  of the deployed platform.
• Conduct
  training and knowledge transfer sessions
  for internal teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in
  Kubernetes, OpenShift, and containerized environments
  .
• Strong expertise in
  OCP cluster deployment (air-gapped, enterprise-grade)
  .
• Hands-on experience with
  HPE Synergy / Blade infrastructure
  .
• Proficiency in
  Networking (DNS, DHCP, HA Proxy, NTP, Multus CNI)
  .
• Experience with
  Storage solutions (Portworx, SAN integration, CSI drivers)
  .
• Solid understanding of
  Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, SNMP)
  .
• Expertise in
  Logging solutions (Rsyslog, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash)
  .
• Strong knowledge of
  Kubernetes security, RBAC, CIS benchmarks
  .
• Experience with
  Container Registry management (Quay/Harbor)
  .
• Familiarity with
  application deployment using Helm
  .
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
