About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, research-driven International Research Fellow to contribute high-quality analytical articles focusing on International Relations between South Eastern countries (including but not limited to ASIAN nations, India, China, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Political Science or International Relations, and prior experience in a research or analytical writing role.

This is a remote, flexible-schedule opportunity, perfect for current or former researchers from government think tanks, the Ministry of External Affairs (MOA), Defense services like the Indian Army, or academic institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on geopolitical developments, diplomacy, security, and regional cooperation in South East Asia.
  • Write 2 to 3 high-quality, publication-ready analytical articles per month (each article approximately 2000–2500 words).
  • Monitor ongoing international affairs and offer timely commentary on major regional developments.
  • Collaborate with editors or senior researchers for feedback and content alignment.
  • Ensure originality, proper citations, and adherence to academic and editorial standards.

Requirements:Education:

  • Master's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Strategic Studies, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in crafting high-quality, well-researched articles or papers on international relations.
  • Proven writing or research portfolio, preferably in areas relating to South East Asian geopolitics.

Preferred Backgrounds:

  • Researchers from government think tanks (e.g., IDSA, ORF, RIS, etc.).
  • Former or current officials from Ministry of External Affairs (MOA).
  • Indian Army officers with international affairs exposure.
  • Academics with international relations publications.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical thinking and geopolitical awareness.
  • Excellent command of English (written).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regional policies, trade, and defense dynamics in South East Asia is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with citation formats (APA/Chicago, etc.) and academic writing standards.
