Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following post on contract basis for the for the ICMR project entitled "Personalized Mitochondria as a Therapeutic Vehicle: An Organelle Mediated Gene Delivery Platform for the Treatment of Alzheimer Diseases" under Dr. P. Govindaraj, Assistant Professor of Neuropathology & PI, NIMHANS, Bengaluru –

Essential qualification

i). First class M. Sc in Life Sciences with strong background and experience in genome analysis or

ii). PhD in Life Sciences / Biological Sciences with experience in genome analysis or

iii). First class B. Tech (four years)/ M.Tech with three years' experience in genome analysis

Desired Qualification

Candidates with experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including Whole Mitochondrial Genome Sequencing, Whole Exome Sequencing and Transcriptomic analysis, will be preferred.

Nature of Work

This is collaborative work between NIMHANS, Bangalore and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. The project covers extensive work on NGS analysis for whole mitochondrial genome analysis, WES and transcriptomics. Candidates with above background encouraged to apply.

Emoluments/Salary

Rs. 56,000/- + 30% HRA per month

Maximum age limit

35 years

Duration of Employment

2 years

Initial appointment will be for 6 months, which will be extendable depending upon the satisfactory performance of the candidate
