Role & responsibilities

  • Architect, configure, and deploy scalable LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions.
  • Implement routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP, EtherChannel).
  • Deploy SD-WAN solutions where applicable.
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth, and latency using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
  • Perform regular upgrades, firmware patching, and preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot L2/L3 connectivity, routing loops, packet drops, and latency issues.
  • Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point).
  • Implement and support VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPN, GRE tunnels).
  • Enforce ACLs, IDS/IPS, and NAC solutions for secure access.
  • Support compliance with security standards (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Support hybrid cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNets, GCP networking).
  • Configure site-to-site VPNs and ExpressRoute/Direct Connect.
  • Implement load balancers and cloud firewalls.
  • Maintain detailed network diagrams, runbooks, and configuration backups.
  • Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Participate in DR (Disaster Recovery) and BCP (Business Continuity Planning) drills.
  • Work closely with system admins, DevOps, and security teams to support business-critical applications.
  • Provide L3 support for escalated tickets.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • Certifications highly preferred: Cisco CCNP (or higher), Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE4/7, AWS/Azure Network Specialty.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in on-call rotation for critical incident support.
