A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a Consultant at SBD Automotive, no two days are quite the same. One day you might be diving deep into data to uncover what's driving the shift to electrification in a key market, and the next you could be presenting insights to a global client considering their next big move in connected or autonomous vehicles.
Your role is all about turning complex information into clear, actionable insights that shape real-world decisions in the automotive industry. You'll collaborate with industry experts on exciting CASES projects, helping clients navigate disruption and seize new opportunities.
Here's what your responsibilities looks like in practice:
- Research & Analysis – You'll gather and interpret data using a variety of research methods, going beyond the obvious to spot patterns, uncover trends, and answer the all-important "so what?" for clients.
- Insight Creation – You'll transform information into executive-level summaries and recommendations that are ready to land on a client's desk.
- Collaboration & Coordination – You'll manage your own workload (and sometimes others'), ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Mentorship & Guidance – You'll support colleagues by sharing best practices, highlighting pitfalls, and helping them develop their research and consulting skills.
- Client Support – You'll contribute to client proposals, estimating resources, and suggesting compelling ways to showcase our capabilities.
ABOUT YOU
This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys variety and challenge, and is excited by the opportunity to shape the future of the automotive industry. To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
- Familiarity with embedded software development and good understanding of the typical constraints in an embedded system
- Familiarity with in-vehicle networking technologies (CAN, Ethernet) (cybersecurity would be a bonus)
- Familiar with automotive development cycles and processes for advanced technologies development
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the automotive technology sector and the challenges it faces.
- Ability to critically evaluate data and generate impactful recommendations and solutions.
- Previous (1-2 years) research and report writing experience and a proven ability to work autonomously within established research frameworks.
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated through the production of high-quality client reports in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Excellent planning and time management skills including the ability to navigate complex problem-solving activities
- An inquiring mind and the ability to ask and answer the 'So What' questions to provide interesting and accurate insights for our clients
- Experience working with international clients
