Lead - Project accounting

About the role

I am responsible for the timely, complete and accurate creation, maintenance and closure of all Project related financial information and to support projects delivered in budget, delivering process KPI and continuous improvement

You will be responsible for

Creating new project records in line with the Asset Management, Capital & Projects Policy and asset information standards

• Performing accurate recording, documentation and reporting of all transactions throughout the projects life-cycle
• Analysing project costs, providing insight and consistent mentorship to relevant partners
• Monitoring project costs against agreed budget
• Ensuring all transactions have been accurately accounted for as part of period end cycle and before project closure in line with the project handbook and transfer from construction-in-progress to fixed assets is in line with policy
• Ensure the training requirements are completed for all new joinees and suggest training requirements time to time
• Support Project Manager and Business Partner in project appraisal
• Ad hoc support to Project Managers and Finance Business Partner to provide analysis, insight and adjustments as the need arises
• Ensuring compliance with Risk & Control Framework relating to Projects
• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
• Be the SME and SPOC for the vertical and ensure knowledge is up to date on new processes and ways of working
• Updates SOPs as instructed

You will need

Required:

• Expert in Financial Accounting
• Strong understanding of Project accounting & Fixed Asset processes and practices
• Understanding of quality tools
