General Summary:

The Tech Lead position is responsible for designing a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. Utilizing expert knowledge of information and processing services to support the delivery of timely and quality engineering solutions, this position assumes responsibility for the design, development, and integration of large and complex engineering solutions. This level is recognized throughout the organization as an expert in software engineering, architecture, and technology.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with product managers, software engineers and other architects to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.
2. Transform common business and system requirements/specifications into designs according to methodology, architecture, and technology standards. Designs and code are reusable and can be shared across multiple platforms, projects, and clients.
3. Create and present the architecture and processes to design, build, and deliver a scalable platform and applications with extensible APIs that possess core capabilities in addition to enabling new, innovative products.
4. Serve as a technical leader and motivator on cross-functional teams during the entire lifecycle of product development and in an agile software development environment.
5. Actively participate in strategic and tactical planning and design meetings with product management, engineering management, functional architects, SaaS operations and development team leaders.
6. Work closely with other team members to develop, implement, and improve best practices and standards, and promote them across development teams.

Qualifications:

1. Must be able to independently design major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex modules.
2. Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
3. Working knowledge of Web Services, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Java, SOAP/REST APIs, MongoDB, Tomcat, Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
4. Ability to work in a complex, dynamic team environment with minimal supervision and possess good organizational skills.
5. Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Experience with system design and collaboration.
7. Ability to direct all aspects of the software strategy, architecture, and development for new products and existing products, ensuring all business objectives are met.
8. In-depth knowledge of technologies covering the entire software stack from cloud to database, application server, UI and web/mobile/social technology and application development frameworks.
9. 5 to 7 years of experience as software architect
10. 5 to 10 years of software engineering experience
