Major responsibilities of position

Production capacity planning and scheduling:

  • Developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods according to customer demands and sales forecast.

  • Assessing production capacity and resource availability to optimize production output while balancing workforce and equipment utilization

  • Material Planning and inventory :

  • Planning and coordinating the procurement of raw materials and components needed for production, ensuring availability to meet production schedules while minimizing inventory costs.

  • Monitoring the stock of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity.

  • Resource Allocation:

  • Allocating manpower, equipment, and other resources effectively to meet production targets and optimize efficiency

  • Production Coordination:

  • Coordinating activities between different departments such as manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and quality assurance to ensure smooth workflow and resolve issues that may impact production schedules.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to minimize disruptions to production schedules and mitigate risks related to supply chain, quality, or capacity issues

  • Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generating reports on production metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement, and providing reports to management for decision-making

  • Training and Development:

  • Providing training for production planning team to enhance skills and knowledge in production planning and scheduling techniques.

  1. Production Scheduling : The ability to create and manage production schedules that optimize resource utilization, minimize downtime, and meet production targets. This involves balancing customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  2. Capacity Planning: Assessing and planning production capacity to ensure resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials are effectively utilized to meet production requirements.
  3. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: The capability to analyze production data, identify issues or bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. This includes making informed decisions under pressure to keep production on track.
  4. Communication and Coordination: Strong communication skills to liaise with different departments (e.g., manufacturing, procurement, logistics) to coordinate production activities, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth workflow.
