Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Sitecore XM Cloud Developer who is already proficient with the latest Sitecore XM Cloud platform and 14/15. This is a senior-level position requiring deep, hands-on expertise and a proven track record of successful XM Cloud implementations. The ideal candidate will lead complex migration efforts, architect scalable headless solutions, and drive technical excellence in delivering high-performance digital experiences across multiple language markets. You must be current with the latest Sitecore XM Cloud features and best practices.

Note : Flexible location with ability to overlap at least 3-4 hours with US Eastern Timezone for meetings and collaboration

Key Responsibilities Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Work alongside Project Technical Director and Lead Architect to design end-to-end Sitecore XM Cloud solution architecture
• Define technical architecture for all Sitecore ecosystem components (XM Cloud, CDP/Personalize, Search, Content Hub)
• Architect integration patterns between Sitecore XM Cloud, frontend, and external systems
• Design migration architecture and strategies for content/component migration from legacy CMS platforms
• Lead architectural reviews and provide technical governance for implementation teams
• Create and maintain solution architecture documentation and technical decision records
• Evaluate and recommend technology choices for optimal performance and scalability

Core Sitecore XM Cloud Development (Senior Level)

• Architect and implement complex Sitecore XM Cloud solutions leveraging latest platform capabilities
• Lead content architecture design including advanced content modeling, template strategies, and multi-site implementations
• Master Experience Editor, Pages, and FEAAS (Frontend as a Service) for enterprise-scale authoring experiences
• Design and build sophisticated XM Cloud Components using Component Builder, BYOC, and advanced personalization rules
• Implement complex Sitecore Forms with custom validations, integrations, and workflow automation
• Architect content serialization strategies and automated deployment pipelines using Sitecore CLI and advanced DevOps practices
• Optimize Experience Edge GraphQL performance for sub-200ms response times at scale
• Develop custom Sitecore extensions, middleware, and advanced pipeline processors
• Lead and mentor Frontend Developers on Cloud integration best practices
• Architect advanced JSS implementations with custom rendering strategies and edge optimization
• Implement advanced SSR/SSG/ISR patterns with 14/15 App Router and Server Components

CDP, Personalization & Search Architecture

• Collaborate with Technical Director on CDP/Personalize architecture and implementation strategy
• Design end-to-end personalization architecture across XM Cloud, CDP, and Personalize
• Architect Sitecore Search implementation for semantic and faceted search capabilities
• Define data flow patterns between XM Cloud, CDP, and external data sources
• Design real-time customer data collection strategies and 360-degree customer view
• Implement advanced personalization rules, A/B testing frameworks, and audience segmentation
• Configure web tracking mechanisms and Sitecore CDP/Personalize JS Library
• Optimize search relevance and performance for large-scale content repositories

Migration & Integration Architecture

• Lead technical architecture for CMS migration from Drupal and other legacy platforms
• Design content migration strategies including content modeling, taxonomy mapping, and URL structures
• Architect component migration patterns from legacy systems to XM architecture
• Define data transformation rules and content mapping strategies
• Build migration tools and scripts for automated content transfer
• Ensure SEO preservation and URL redirect strategies during migration
• Collaborate with Integration Developer on API architecture and data flow patterns
• Design integration architecture with Content Hub Edge for product data using GraphQL
• Implement automated translation workflows and multi-language content strategies

Platform Implementation & DevOps

• Configure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Implement Vercel or Netlify deployment pipelines with edge optimization
• Build integrations with marketing automation platforms via XM Cloud Forms
• Develop API integrations using REST and GraphQL endpoints
• Integrate analytics platforms (GA4, GTM, marketing automation) for comprehensive tracking
• Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms for marketing performance
• Implement Infrastructure as Code for Sitecore XM Cloud deployments

AI-Assisted Development

• Critical Requirement: Leverage AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor IDE, Windsurf) for accelerated development
• Generate migration scripts and component code using appropriate LLMs for the job (latest models from Claude, OpenAI, Grok, etc.)
• Use AI for documentation, code review, and research (Perplexity, Gemini)
• Achieve significant efficiency gains through AI-powered development methodologies on a daily basis

Required QualificationsTechnical Skills

• Required: 5+ years of Sitecore development with minimum 2 years hands-on Sitecore XM Cloud experience (Note: We are specifically seeking XM Cloud expertise, not legacy Sitecore XM/XP 9.x)
• Required: Expert-level proficiency in latest Sitecore XM Cloud features, including Pages, Components, Experience Editor, Forms, and Experience Edge
• Required: Advanced expertise with 14/15, React 18, and TypeScript - must be current with latest features
• Required: Mastery of GraphQL (Experience Edge Delivery API) and REST APIs with proven production implementations
• Required: Deep experience with Sitecore JSS, headless architectures, and composable DXP patterns
• Required: Understanding and working knowledge of Vercel platform, including deployment pipelines, edge functions, and optimization
• Required: Strong understanding of CMS principles and content/component migration strategies (Drupal experience helpful but not required)
• Required: Proven experience with CDP/Personalize architectures and Sitecore Search implementations
• Required: Expert-level modern web development (HTML5, CSS3/SASS, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript ES6+, Web Components)
• Required: Strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET MVC for backend customizations
• Required: Extensive experience with Azure deployments and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Senior Development Practices

• Expert-level understanding of Helix principles and enterprise solution architecture
• Advanced experience with Azure DevOps, complex CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM)
• Leadership experience in establishing development standards and code review processes
• Expert-level performance optimization including Edge computing, ISR, CDN strategies, and Core Web Vitals
• Deep knowledge of security best practices, OWASP standards, and GDPR compliance
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize at scale

You'll be the senior technical lead for a critical migration project:

• Working directly with Project Technical Director and Lead Architect on overall solution design
• Providing architectural leadership for Sitecore XM Cloud, CDP/Personalize, and Search implementations
• Leading technical architecture for complex migration from Drupal to modern Sitecore XM Cloud
• Collaborating with Frontend teams on integration architecture and component strategies
• Designing integration architecture across all Sitecore products and external systems
• Ensuring sub-200ms TTFB performance targets through advanced optimization
• Architecting enterprise-scale personalization and search solutions
• Leading content and component migration strategy from legacy CMS platforms
• Driving aggressive timeline with Phase 1 completion in Q1 2026
